About the Artists...

Pamela Parker donated Track #1:  Beautiful Day

Pamela Parker is a proponent of peace activism, collaborating with both national women’s peace and social justice activists groups, as well as a member of WomenROCK. As an accomplished musician, Pamela Parker rises above the rest with her unique capability of crossing music genres and the ability to please anyone she performs for. She has something for everyone.  Serving up a blend of juicy, bluesy, soulful, funky music, Pamela sets out to deeply touch her audience with songs about life, love, and creating positive changes in the world.  Her first solo record Beautiful Day, has been getting rave reviews. People like Music Connection Magazine are saying, "Parker oozes organic soul in both her performances and arrangements." All About Jazz did a review of the CD, where they state "There is a breathtaking sense of liberation in the music of vocalist Pamela Parker. Her voice conveys both a childlike sense of wonder and an adult wisdom."  She is also the co-founder of the San Francisco Rock School, which provides band, songwriting and music workshops for youth and adults around the country.

Roots A'Risin' donated Track #2:  Positive Groove

Roots A'Risin' is a project that started as a way to come together and spread music, love and light to people around the world.  RAR is a group that makes music to inspire people to do their best and give out positive energy to all.  Their first album, PEACE, was said to, "...keep you in the spot between bliss and reality."  RAR has been known to make people dance, think, smile, twirl, and more...

Aradhana donated Track #3:  Love Is Stronger Than Fear

Aradhana Silvermoon
, hailing from the only hippy domain of LA, Topenga Canyon, she brings with her soulful, heart-opening songs, folk guitar rhythms, and powerful poetic lyrics.spring from a place deep within, inspiring audiences across the country.  Through her angelic vocals and earth-tones, she emits a warm, loving, and nurturing energy that leaves you hungry for more.  And speaking of hunger and desire, in addition to being a wonderful performer, she is a raw food enthusiast with her own line of vegan, raw, organic chocolates (Silvermoon Chocolates).

Kim Manning donated Track #4:  Somewhere in a Tuppa'ware

Kim Manning gracefully rings in Love and Light with booty shorts and fishnets. Bursting to form infectious grooves, poetic lyrics, and a true performer with that special spark to make it all work.  From tongue in cheek references, “I was played like play-doh” and “Somewhere in a Tupperware- All that’s left of our affair”, to calls for personal awakening “ I wish I could Bridge the Gap”, and “Let the Love Light come and shine on through”, to facing infidelities “Ripping Fingers pulling thumbs- Trying to choose which one is one”; Kim is raw, poignant, funny and somehow even coy.

Goddess Alchemy Project donated Track #5:  Secrets

Bringing forth a timeless science through a live, lyrical experience of "more than one sista on the mic at a time"… this crew gives voice to the potent sound of Goddess Alchemy rising from underground urban-scapes to mainstream airwaves. In collaboration with many artists and producers, this unique sound provides a fresh flavor by integrating elements of underground hip-hop, world accents, spoken word flows, and soulful melodics. Combine this with ancient texts, quantum physics, ancestral roots, multi-dimensional symbology, and an all-female cypher… the result to this equation is a new, musical science they call "Open Source Soul Floetics."

Silvermoon featuring RAR donated Track #6:  Perpetual Dance

Aradhana Silvermoon was an original member of Roots A'Risin' and has a compilation of songs that were intended to go on their first album, PEACE.  Since Aradhana had to move out of town to persue her solo career, everyone decided to collaborate on another album to capture the songs of that time:  Silvermoon featuring Roots A'Risin'.  Perpetual Dance is an amazing song about living life in a blessed way, and has been pre-released on the Herstory CD.  At this point in time, this is the only CD that is released with this song on it. "This perpetual dance we experience in this cyclical existence it must be purified...purified...and we shall abide by the higher law...the higher law.  We are humanly divine.  Realize we are blessed, we are blessed in this lifetime."

Pollywood donated Track #7:  Bledsung

Percussionist/Songstress/Dancer - Polly is devoted to preserving the Divine, Sacred Feminine through music, dance, art & scholarship. She sings while she drums, letting rhythms guide her intelligent lyrics and buttery, percussive vocals straight into the heart of the listener. Polly's yet-to-be-released second album - featuring vocals, percussion, bass and cello - offers danceable grooves with delicious rhythms, addressing global expressions of love, war, peace and violence.
